Over 37 million Americans started to receive COVID-19 relief checks last week under President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan. Were you one of them?
As an individual earning up to $75,000, a single person would receive $1400. As a married couple filing jointly earning up to $150,000, the stimulus payment totals $2800. However, payments phase out above $80,000 for single filers and $160,000 for joint filers.
How to check the status of your payment?
Check on your status through the IRS “Get My Payment” tool. In order to use this tool, you will need to enter your social security number or tax ID, date of birth, street address and zip code. If you are an eligible recipient, the tool will display a “payment status” indicating the date for direct deposit/mail OR whether or not the payment has already been issued.
If you have not received your stimulus payment, do not worry. The payments will continue to roll out in the next coming weeks through direct deposit, paper checks or debit cards.
