From Tom Boland, President
Roger DeLaCruz, the former Director of Admissions at the American Fitness and Nutrition Academy (AFNA), was promoted to the new position of Campus Director. As Campus Director Roger is responsible for all operations at the school related to admissions, student services, and campus management. Roger helped to guide AFNA’s transition from campus-only course offerings to its now expanded online attendance options. Roger’s responsibilities include implementing AFNA’s COVID-19 campus safety plan as the school forges new policies and procedures for student and staff safety in accordance with state and local health directives.
“Knowing Roger first as a student and graduate of AFNA, as an Instructor at AFNA teaching the Group Exercise Curriculum, as a personal trainer and fitness manager at 24 Hour Fitness for 4 ½ years, and finally for the last year-and-a-half as AFNA’s Admissions Director, I am grateful for his operational contributions and steady leadership in challenging but also opportunity-rich times. He leaves nothing on the table when it comes to supporting our graduates and students, and his ongoing passion for admissions keeps our mission on solid footing. I look forward to working with Roger and watching AFNA adjust and grow through 2020 and years to come.”
Roger shared with me during the interview process that “all roads led him back to AFNA and the Campus Director opportunity.” He explains,“my experience as an Operational and Customer Service Manager at Nike, my passion for coaching and being of service to my clients as a Personal Trainer and my 100% belief in our program at AFNA makes my transition to the role as Campus Direct feel like the job I was destined to have.”
